Warnings That Doctors May Leave Ontario
There are warnings that doctors may leave the province after the governments hard-line approach to negotiations.
The Coalition of Family Physicians and Specialists of Ontario is calling the situation in Ontario a serious threat to the medical profession.
Last week, in an effort to bring down the deficit, the minority Liberal government cut hundreds of OHIP fees paid to doctors.
The Coalition says Ontario Doctors may want to look elsewhere to work, noting they should carefully consider whether they should invest more in office leases or new equipment.
Premier Dalton McGuinty stands by the province's decisions. He doesn't seem worried that Ontario's doctors will leaving, noting physicians here get paid more than those in the U.S.
