Third Person Charged in Death of Brampton Woman

Posted By: David Woodard · 5/30/2012 1:51:00 PM

A third arrest has been made in connection with the death of Poonam Litt in Brampton.

Litt was reported missing in 2009, after she failed to report to her job that day.  Her purse and keys were found at her home.

In February, human remains were found in a field in Caledon, they were later determined to be those of Litt.

Her sister-in-law Mandeep Punia was charged with murder.  Litt's father-in-law Kulwant Singh Litt was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

On Wednesday, Peel police charged Skinder Punia - Litt's brother-in-law, and Mandeep's husband - on charges of being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Let me guess... she said 'Hi' to some male that was not a family member. In doing so, the 'whore' disgraced the husband and his entire family, so she had to be killed. Yeah.

Let me guess...you are just assuming the whole story based on the deceased cultural and ethnic background. I suggest you stop doing that and set an example for other ignorant and uneducated people that yes you can change and live the life of a proper human being

IHuman while I totally understand and respect your words I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that what IIlaura said is exactly what happened. Sorry but the proof is in the pudding and there's been so many of these incidents in this city.

actually most probably not since the husband probably would have known about such an issue... and we know that the husband loved Poonam dearly. I'm going to take a guess and say Poonam knew something she wasn't supposed to or Mandeep Punia was blaming her for something horrible that had happened to her.

    Honour Killings

Now, with those 2 words, I may stir up controversy-that may or may not be warranted. I am not of that faith, understand little about it, so, I have taken to reading what I can. The Vancouver Sun - had what seemed to be an excellent article about this practice, I am a father to three - one being a vibrant, great, young women. And can not comprehend taking her life - only - if needed - giving mine for her. SO, I am perplexed, and ANGRY and hope - some justice will be served.
