On-Street Parking Rates Going Up?
The fees for on street-parking could go up an average of 11% if city council approves a parking authority proposal at councils July meeting.
The Toronto Parking Authority is hoping to increase charges to about 10-thousand parking spaces across the city, raising fares anywhere from .25 cents to .50 cents per hour.
The authority claims inflation in Toronto has risen 10% since 2007, the year the rates last changed.
The rate increase would generate and extra $4 Million a year. The city received $42 Million from the authority last year.
Council will debate the report at the July 10th and 11th meeting.
