Police have another tool to use in their quest to find a potential sex offender near York University.

Cops have released a surveillance video of a man, they believe, is attempting to break into a home on Assiniboine Road early on Thursday morning.

They say the man was spotted kneeling at the foot of a woman's bed around 5 o'clock on Thursday.

When she screamed, he ran off.

Police were clear in saying this never escalated to the point of a sexual assault, but the woman’s laptop is missing.
