SIU Investigating Pickering Shooting

The province's Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate after a 17-year-old boy was shot in Pickering on Monday morning.

At around 7:30 a.m., Durham Police were called to the Sheridan Veterinary Services on Kingston Road near Liverpool Road for an armed robbery in progress.
 
When an officer arrived at the scene, there was a confrontation with the teen. Several shots were fired and the teen was shot at least once.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this incident is being asked to contact the SIU's lead investigator at 416-622-1935 or 1-800-787-8529 extension 1935.

    He was committing an armed robbery. Innocent people could have been hurt; instead, as far as we know, only a criminal was hurt. The situation was handled perfectly.

    Hopefully the cop gets a commendation, the criminal dies of his wounds, and all his hoodlum friends get a very direct lesson that crime is not a solution to their problems.

    17 year old; if he lives, we'll never know ID....one consolation, if studious, he can study at Ottawa U and get his diploma handed to him by President and Mr. Young Offenders Act, Allan Rock.....

    i'm sure this criminal registered his handgun. you notice that the police and the lefties NEVER bring up the topic of gun registry when they reference criminals using handguns. If they did everyone would realize how useless it is.
