It has been one week since the shooting on Danzig Street where two innocent people lost their lives in the crossfire and over 20 others were injured.

One of the victims was laid to rest on Monday.

Friends, family and members of the community gathered to say goodbye to Joshua Yasay, 23, of Ajax. The funeral was held at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Ajax at 11 a.m.

Yasay was a mentor and youth worker for at-risk kids, as well as part-owner of a new barbershop. A trust fund in his name has been established: Scotiabank Trust Account No. 647820592781; Transit No. 64782; Branch No.002.

The other victim of the shooting was Shyanne Charles, 14.
Visitation for Shyanne will take place on Friday, July 27 at Highland Funeral Home in Scarborough from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Her funeral will be on Saturday, July 28 at the chapel there, at 10 a.m.

Her family requests that anyone attending Shyanne's visitation or funeral service, wear white attire.
