VIDEO: Mayor Ford and PM meet to talk about gun violence, result not discussed
Mum was the word in Scarborough as the Mayor and Prime Minister met to talk about getting tough on crime.
The meeting lasted roughly 30 minutes and they made a quick exit after the get-together, not immediately revealing what happened during the talk.
Later in the afternoon at an announcement in Oshawa, Stephen Harper revealed they discussed about recent gun violence in the city and about a shared determination to get a handle on it. He also encouraged the city and the province to work together.
Harper wasn't specific but noted they spoke about a range of enforcement measures, underlining both he and the mayor will look at additional things that can be done to curb crime in the city.
Mayor Ford only issued a statement on the matter later in the day, calling the conversation "very productive" and says they agreed to continue working together to protect the community.
