Vaughan man accused of sexual assault extradited from Argentina
A Vaughan man accused of sexual assault has been extradited from Argentina.
York police say they were contacted in 2006 by a victim of sexual abuse that had allegedly taken place over a six-year period.
After an investigation, a Canada-wide warrant was issued against Ronald Rosario DeFrancesco.
Police say he had fled to Italy after hearing of the accusations. The accused was found in Argentina in 2010.
Last month, an extradition request was granted and he was handed over to York police on Wednesday, July 26th.
DeFrancesco has been charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and two counts of threatening death.
