Canada captures 1st Olympic gold in London
Trampolinist Rosie MacLennan has snagged Canada's 1st Olympic gold at the London Games.
She was in the lead as the final competitor, China's Shanshan Huang climbed onto the trampoline.
Huang seemed poised to kick MacLennan off the top of the leader board, but she caught a bad double bounce in the final moments of her routine & ended up on her rear.
Huang took silver, pushing Canada's reigning trampoline queen Karen Cockburn off the podium for a 4th place finish.
MacLennan sang the words to Oh Canada as she watched the Maple Leaf being hoisted up to the rafters of the Greenwich Arena in London.
The gold is MacLennan's 1st Olympic medal. At her debut Beijing, she finished 7th.
Team Canada now has 8 medals at the Summer Games-1 gold, 2 silvers & 5 bronze. They're hoping for a top-12 finish in London.
