Two young men died after being pulled from Lake Ontario on Sunday morning.

Toronto Police say the brothers, 18 and 22 years old, got into trouble on the water near Ashbridges Bay.

Both men were taken to hospital just after they were pulled to shore around 9:00am.

One had a pulse, the other did not.

Authorities confirmed one of the men died mid-afternoon.  The other passed away a few hours later.

It's not clear what brought the young men to the water or what went wrong.

Names have not been released.
