A warning from Legal Aid Ontario today.

This for those who have applied to be a secret shopper. A note on its website says fraudulent cheques with the amount of $3,991.17 are being mailed out with the Legal Aid Ontario logo on it.

It comes with a letter  instructing people to cash the cheque, make some purchases with the money and transfer whatever is left through Western Union.

Several people are said to have called to complain so far.

The online notice asks those who received the letter to contact investigations manager Victor Matanovic at 416-979-6282.
