2 in hospital, charges laid after violence outside downtown bars
Toronto Police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was dragged by a taxi the entertainment district.
The incident happened early Saturday morning in front of a night club on Mercer Street, between King and John Streets.
Allegations are the victim was pushed into traffic by a 44-year old man.
The 25-year old was dragged several metres before the taxi stopped.
He was taken to hospital. There is no update on his condition.
The suspect was arrested and faces charges including aggravated assault.
Not far away, two people were arrested early Sunday after a stabbing outside a bar.
The alleged victim has cuts on his back and a collapsed lung but is expected to recover in hospital.
Police say a brawl broke out between a handful of people near Bloor Street and Lansdowne Avenue around 1:30am.
Charges are expected to come soon.
The investigation had the intersection shut down most of the early morning.
