Security Boosted For Airline Catering Companies
The discovery of a needle in a sandwich on an Air Canada flight to Toronto, from Victoria B.C. made headlines across the country.
Now, extra security guards and cameras have been added to monitor caterers at Pearson airport while food preparation for flights is taking place.
According to Peel police, a disgruntled employee may have planted the needle, as the workers were in contract talks at the time.
While no charges have been laid, the investigation continues.
Last week, the union voted 82 percent in favour of a new contract, averting a strike. the deal was finalized, one week ago today.
