Participaction Wants Canadians to Capitalize on Olympic Spirit
With the 30th Olympiad all done in London, athletes home, and kids and adults alike off their couches, at least one group is saying we should capitalize on them.
Participaction says that while there are no solid numbers to suggest an increase in activity post-Olympic games, some studies show that Canadians are more likely to get involved in physical activity during an Olympic year.
It may have to do with Canadians watching inspiring successes by the athletes abroad.
Kristine Cameron says even though that may be the case, one should not assume that all Canadians will take that inspiration and become active individuals.
She says now is the time to capitalize on the inspiration, and get kids involved in activity and sport.
