Posted By: Russ Courtney · 8/18/2012 5:42:00 AM

It appears there were fewer problems in week two of private garbage collection west of Yonge.

City councillor and Public Works Committee Chair Denzil Minnan-Wong tells the Star that complaints about the service have dropped significantly.

He says the city received about 60 complaints a day last week, down frommore than 250 a day in the first week.

Before private collector Green for Life took over, the city received about 50 complaints a day about garbage pickup.

GFL trucks are still not meeting consistently meeting the mandatory 6 p.m. pickup deadline, which the city wants to see within the next two weeks.

Where was Olivia Chow then? 50 complaints a day - and given a civil servant's efficiency - the number was likely higher - and did she say anything? But her tweets talk about - “My mother is in an extra bad mood today. The garbage hasn't been picked up yet — the wonder of privatization,”

This women gets into power - Rae will seem a FOND memory!
