Oshawa GM workers prepared to strike
Unionised GM workers in Oshawa have voted overwhelmingly in favour of using a strike as a bargaining tactic.
Members of CAW Local 222 voted 96.8% in favour of giving their bargaining committee a strike mandate.
"Members of our GM unit have sent a strong message to the company as a result of (Sunday's) strike vote meeting," said Local 222 president Chris Buckley in a news release.
"But it remains the CAW's position to bargain a fair settlement without a labour dispute."
