Mayor Refuses to Have a Driver

Posted By: David Woodard · 8/21/2012 1:54:00 PM

Toronto's mayor says he won't be getting a personal driver.

Depsite pleas from some of his greatest allies, including his own brother, Rob Ford says  he doesn't believe in wasting taxpayers money, and will drive himself.

"A million people a day go to work in the city and they drive ... themselves. I don’t see why I’m any different."

The mayors comments come a week after pictures surfaced showing the mayor driving in his Escalade on the Gardiner Expressway, reading a document.

Councillor Doug Ford told Newstalk1010 last week he would work hard to ensure the mayor was driven around while on city business.

Rob Ford made the comments during a press conference today supporting a boys U-12 soccer team.

This won't be funny when someone is injured or worse.
C'mon cops! Do your job. Stop making excuses for his bad habits and charge him.

When Rob Ford kills or seriously injures sombody as a result of him not paying attention - we will need to throw the book at him - cause he has been warned.

Geez - take the driver - what is the problem? Answer: He believes he is an average Joe, and thinks that if he takes a driver those other average Joes won't vote for him again?

Forgetaboutit! Nobody would vote him in again anyways - so TAKE THE DRIVER and Don't hurt anyone Rob@

While the rest of us get charged $155 for being distracted.
    Can I get a taxes-paid driver too?
