Peel police say that an elderly woman has died after she was struck by a tractor trailer in Mississauga Wednesday.

Police say it happened just after 1pm, it is still unknown what led to the accident and police aren't revealing any details about the woman who was killed.

Burnhamthorpe from Mavis to Wolfedale is closed, and will likely be closed for a good portion of the afternoon as investigators attempt to find out exactly what happened.
