New TV ad rules in effect
As of today, you will no longer have to run for your remote when the commercials come on, to turn down your TV.
New rules are in effect that require digital broadcasters to maker sure TV programs and ads are at the same volume level.
Last year, the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission got about 7,000 responses from viewers who said ads were too loud.
The commission says an international standard for measuring TV signals will apply to regulate fluctuations in loudness.
