Peel police say one of their officers have shot a man in Mississauga.

Constable Fiona Thivierge says it happened just after 1:15 when officers were responding to a disturbance call on Lakeshore Road East in Mississauaga.

One unidentified man was shot during an incident at the home and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Peel police have turned the matter over to the Special Investigations Unit, who will now conduct their own investigation in the matter.
