The Toronto Maple Leafs are the worst sports franchise. Period.

That's the result of an ESPN Magazine study that places the Leafs 122nd out 122 North American franchises when it comes to 'bang for your buck.'

The Warsaw Sports Marketing Centre used information from ESPN magazine readers to put together several categories to measure the fans experience.

While some are calling it an insult to the Leafs, others such as this listener to the Jim Richards showgram says it isn't a surprise. "It's true, and the truth hurts.  (The Leafs fans have) an abusive relationship."

Other Toronto franchises on the list - The Blue Jays sit in 79th place, while the Raptors were 103rd.
