Toronto Emergency Medical Services are confirming that one person has died after a fire in an apartment building on Carlton near Church Street.

Fire officials say the person died of burn injuries sustained.  The fire is said to have started in a suite on the 9th floor of the building around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Several people in the building are believed to be what fire officials call 'high needs' and EMS officials confirmed the deceased was disabled.

No other people have been reported injured.  Fire officials remain on scene.
