Posted By: Katie Franzios · 9/12/2012 12:12:00 PM

First the teachers, now everyone else.

The Premier has revealed that he will be drawing up a bill for an across the board wage freeze for all public sector employees.

Dalton McGuinty wouldn't give too many details away but says it will be respectful of what he says is the path recommended by the courts. McGuinty underlines they don't plan on ripping up any existing contracts to make this happen.

PC Economic Development Critic Monte McNaughton says the Liberals are just listening to what the Tories have called for all along. However, he says he'll believe it when he sees it.

NDP House Leader Gilles Bisson says it's always hard to find compromise in tough times but notes, it's been done before.

At least McGuinty has his priorities straight. There is no more waste to clean up to slay the deficit so the government will have to spend less on salaries.

Oh wait, what is that hiding over there under that rock? Four school systems serving overlapping jurisdictions -- two of them sectarian Catholic systems? That can't be wasteful, can it?

But it really doesn’t matter that the massive duplication in the education sector is wasteful and expensive – Catholic education is more important than just about anything else. How else are those Catholic kids going to learn about God if 90% of their families don’t even go to Church? Catholic education is therefore not on the block – while funding for health care, quality education, social services, infrastructure, and civil service salaries will all take a hit instead.

Yes, McGuinty has his priorities straight. An awful lot will have to go to hell in a handbag before he touches Catholic schools.
