Crew Worker Injured In Multi-Vehicle 401 Collision
A multi-vehicle collision on the eastbound 401 sent at least two people to hospital.
It was just after midnight on Thursday near Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga, where crews were cleaning up from an earlier collision in the right lane.
O.P.P. say, a tractor-trailer collided with a truck that was protecting the workers, then spun around and hit two other trucks on scene. A total of four vehicles were involved.
One crew member was taken to hospital in life threatening condition, but his injuries have since been downgraded. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
O.P.P. are hoping to have the eastbound lanes of the 401 opened after 6 a.m.
