Brampton Council Wants Ban on Front-Yard Laundry
How would you like it if the city was telling you how to do your laundry?
In Brampton, city councillors want to pass a bylaw that will prohibit anyone from hanging their wet clothes out to dry on their front yard, including banisters.
This all began last fall when residents were complaining about how it detracts from the beauty of the city. City staff have been asked to put together a report. Staffers had suggested that a bylaw wasn't necessary for this, but they were overruled at a council meeting on Sept. 5.
For the most part, Brampton residents seem okay with it. A recent poll showed 75 percent in favour of the ban.
