Toronto woman files integrity complaint against mayor

A Torontonian has filed a complaint with the city's integrity commissioner, targeting the mayor & the football team he coaches.

The complaint, filed by Jude MacDonald, comes after allegations Rob Ford staffers have been pulling double duty, helping co-ordinate the Rexdale Raiders with city-issued phones.

MacDonald sees it as a violation of council's code of conduct.

Councillor Doug Ford says the mayor's aides were volunteering to help out with the football team outside their work hours.

MacDonald tells Newstalk 1010 she's concerned about there being "a blur" between citizen engagement & residents of Toronto being involved in how their government works.

This is MacDonald's 2nd complaint to the integrity commissioner on Rob Ford.  Last year, she raised questions about his office expenses, that she felt were too low.  MacDonald hopes commissioner Janet Leiper will take at look at her new complaint.

Asked if she's piling on the mayor in a wave of negative media attention, MacDonald answered "I'm 120 pounds.  I don't pile on".

    I'm not going to suggest that Ford hasn't been better than Miller, because I think gaffes aside he has been, but is it any wonder why Jude MacDonald never did this once under Miller? She seems to care about how money is spent when Ford is in office, but go back 3 years ago and she never did it under Miller. It is pretty telling of her political bias that she is going after Ford here.

    City issued phones... are you kidding me?! $50 gets you an unlimited plan, talk whatever you want to talk about. These days people will bitch just about anything if they don't like someone.

    under miller and his lefty buddies hundreds of millions of dollars were wasted. did these lefties go after miller for wasting the money of hard-working taxpayers? of course not.

    now we have a mayor that wants to fix the abuse and the left suddenly sees a threat to its cash cow. they can't stand it so they'll try any and every means to get rid of a democratically elected mayor.

    these people are a pariah on the attempts at fiscal responsibility. they're used to doing nothing and getting paid by people who work hard.

    that's why voting these people in will only serve to hurt us economically, especially the middle class who bear the brunt of this.
