A man in his 30's is dead after a horrifying crash on the Gardiner Expressway.

Toronto Police say he was riding his motorcycle eastbound near Parklawn around 1:00am Friday when something went wrong.

He lost control, sending his bike into the middle barrier which launched the man into the Westbound lanes, where he was hit by a silver Mazda van.

There is no word on who the man is or what caused the crash.

Police collision investigators have been working on the scene through the early morning, closing all Eastbound and Westbound lanes through a section of the Expressway.

Traffic on the Eastbound Gardiner is being forced to exit at Parklawn, while Westbound traffic is being directed off the road at South Kingsway.
