UPDATE: French Court Will Rule Tuesday on Kate Middleton Topless Photos

Posted By: Newstalk 1010 · 9/17/2012 4:49:00 PM

****VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED****

Lawyers for the Royal Family are expecting to hear Tuesday about a legal injuction seeking to stop further publications of topless photo's of the Duchess of Cambridge.

The news comes the same day a second magazine - this time in Italy - has posted new photos of Kate Middleton sans bathing suit top while on her honeymoon with Prince William.

Initially, 'Closer' released a five page pictorial, mainly with photos of the Dutchess of Cambridge, sunbathing topless with Prince William in the south of France.

Closer, is essentially a gossip magazine in France, showed a dozen shots of the Duchess as she slipped off her bikini top, relaxed on a sun lounger and at one point pulled down the back of her bikini bottoms as William rubs sun cream on her.

The lawyers will also be filing a criminal complaint against the unidentified photographer involved but it would be up to French prosecutors to determine whether to investigate and pursue criminal charges of breach of privacy or trespassing.

A spokesperson has called this a grotesque move that upset the royal couple, who have moved on from France and are currently touring southeast Asia.

British royals file lawsuit against French magazine over topless photos of Prince William's wife Kate.

@Don At a private residence we should still be entitled to our privacy.

Sue their arses for all they are worth, which is likely very little.

@Don 1. Who's "we" ? I hope that's you and the person next to you, and you didn't just include the rest of "us" in your statement.

      2. What are "you" (singular) not amused about? The fact that this was printed, the fact that the future queen was topless on a beach while future king is rubbing oil on her ass, or the fact that she's lost so much weight that she has no boobs any more?

This is not our business. Its shameful these pics were taken and published. This was thier private time between a husband and wife, and it should have stayed that way.

@Tina Newstalk 1010 lowered itself by publishing these photos. This was not the right thing to do.

I hope the Royal lawyers sue them to the hilt..Both the person who took the photos and the rag for printing them! There was no business interferring nor trespassing on Wm and Kate when they were on private property and private stay!

@Kate Let's assume they do sue and do win the lawsuit. They will get an appology from whoever took and published these photos, may get some money out of it (which they really don't care much about - they have more than enough), and that's where it ends. Will you forget that you saw Kate Middlleton topless? Will winning the lawsuit erase all photos from the Internet? Kate's naked photos on the Internet is like pissing in a pool - and a lawsuit will be like trying to clean the piss... no matter what they do, the damage is done, and while they can try to contain it, they can't clean it.

@Kate And shame on Newstalk 1010 for re-posting them

While I am sympathetic to the clear invasion of her privacy... I dont go topless in my own backyard!!!!! If I had throngs of photographers always trying to get pictures of me for their tabloids I would think going topless OUTSIDE under any condition would be something you would have to consider carefully!

@Cheryl Benson I quite certain that if someone wanted to take photos of you in your back yard they wouldn't need a lens with the same strength as the hubble telescope.

Too bad they don't get a chance to just say..."oh well, big deal...you creeped me, and saw my boobs, Now go have a private moment while you pull the goalie" (NHL reference thrown in for timeliness)....
This story will be over as soon as the next one comes up, but I fully understand their anger.

Okay, I can understand the Frenchies trying to make some monies. But why CFRB has to publish it?

What can I say? You also are pigs. You heard it said that it was a grotesque invasion of privacy, and it was - the chateau was quite isolated and one had to go to great lengths to "steal" an unflattering photo and for mere profit paste it on a front page and all over the internet for the whole world to see. Not only did you not take the high road, but you joined wholeheartedly in the grotesque invasion and even went so far as to invite people to check out the picture. Where's the news value, or and value at all? How would you like it if a photographer snapped a picture of your mother on the toilet, maybe through a slightly open window, and pasted it all over the internet. Shame. These are the Canadian values you go on about ad nauseam? You've lost me after several years. You've acted badly.

CFRB totally stooped to an all time low by showing these pics. The 'authoritative' news voice discussed the shocking display, and then rather than moving -- oh by the way visit the website to see the pics. Are you news station or a peep show.. I'm sure you'll rationalize its display as 'news'. Get together you morons.

In my own backyard in my pool I would not recommend to go toppless for my wife but if the pictures were to be plastered all over the internet I would do something about it.
But she made the choice to go topless now she must feel with the cosequences.
    she is not a child

It think it is disgusting that you have put the pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge on your web site. typical of the decline in standards at your radio station. I will no longer be a listener.
