Toronto Police have released more information on the man killed on the Gardiner Expressway on Friday morning.

Around 1 o'clock Friday morning, a man riding a motorcycle eastbound on the Gardiner Expressway, lost control and slammed into the centre median.

The driver was thrown from the bike and landed in the westbound lanes of the Gardiner.

A car driven by a 36 year old woman then tragically struck the man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was closed for a number of hours as a result.
