A teenage girl has died after she was hit by a car driven by her sister.

The 17-year-old was on a sidewalk on Attwell Dr near Pearson Airport when she was struck by a Toyota Camry.

The teen was pinned under the car for about 15 minutes. She was rushed to hospital, where she died.

Police say the Camry was driven by the girl's 18 -year-old sister.

Police say they are speaking with a couple of witnesses - a passenger in the car, and a friend who was with the 17-year-old.

I recently had an incident with my 2010 Toyota Corolla accelerating on it's own. I was able to use my break to keep some control of the car as the engine revved to the point I thought something was going to blow up. I slowed it enough to throw it into park. The car was recalled to have a something done to prevent this from happening, but the recall adjustment didn't work. Toyota Canada check out my car and after 1 week advised that it was as a result of my after market floor mat.
    Unbelievable I know!
