VIDEOS: Fall Seatbelt Campaign Begins
The province-wide blitz to crackdown on motorists who don't wear their seatbelts is underway.
It started Monday morning and goes until October 6th.
This is not just the OPP. Virtually as police services in the province are involved including Toronto Police. It is estimated that for every one per cent increase in seatbelt use, five lives are saved in Ontario every year. Their campaign has just launched in the parking lot of the Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
That's where you can get a tutorial on how to properly install a child car seat. Officers will be there from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for that. Child car seat inspection clinics have shown that over 80 per cent of car seats are installed or used incorrectly. The use of child car seats became mandatory in 1976.
