Opposition Vows to Move Forward With Contempt Motion

Posted By: Katie Franzios · 9/24/2012 2:23:00 PM

As the Liberals release thousands of pages of documents in relation to the cancellation of both the Misissauga and Oakville power plants, it looks as though opposition parties will be moving forward with a contempt motion against the Energy Minister.

This all stems from Minister Chris Bentley refusing to make these files public during a committee meeting on the matter and the speaker finding him in breach of privilege.

PC leader Tim Hudak says they are still going through with the contempt motion because taxpayers want the Tories to send a signal that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated. He calls it "wrong, wasteful and scandalous".

NDP leader Andrea Horwath agrees there has to be a contempt motion for both the government and the minister, underlining this shouldn't have happened at all in the first place. She says there has to be repercussions.

dalton mcguinty must be laughing all the way to the polling booth. Here's a partial list of his tenure as premier -

    lied about not raising taxes
lies so numerous there's not enough space here
caledonia - allowing criminals to practically beat people to death and not allowing the opp to step in
    eHealth
    Ornge
massive increase in deficit to highest level in history with little to show for it
green energy where each job created costs us $ 200,000 per job per year
buying 2 seats by cancelling power plants at a cost that might reach $ 500 MILLION per seat

He's certainly won the lottery by having such an ignorant and uncaring electorate continually voting him in, despite missteps that should have had him turfed out years ago. Makes me feel the liberal voters are as stupid as those rioters in the middle east rioting against the west over that stupid movie
