Oakville Plant Costs Revealed
As the Liberals hand out thousands of documents in relation to the gas plant cancellations in Mississauga and Oakville, the Energy Minister has released how much it will be costing the province to move the Oakville plant to Lennox, just outside of Napanee.
And it will ding the taxpayer's pocketbooks. There are $40 million in what Chris Bentley Dubs "unrecoverable" costs and $210 million to pay for the costs of the turbines and to store them.
When Bentley was asked how long it will take to pay that back, he pointed to the 20-year deal inked to move production to the Lennox Generation Station. He says they don't have a timeline just yet.
These numbers are on top of the $190 million it's costing the province for the Mississauga gas plant cancellation.
