Councillor Doug Ford is backtracking Monday, from comments he made to the media earlier in the day.

While speaking with reporters at City Hall, Ford called the group a 'bunch of pricks'.

He later said it happened in the heat of the moment.

Reporters were asking him why he called all members of the media 'pathological liars', during his radio show here on Newstalk1010 on Sunday.

Ford went on to say that he wished the media would concentrate on the positives going on in the city.

Councillor Adam Vaughan also got in on the controversy, handing out buttons to members of the media, reading 'I'm a sucky kid, who whines, and cries and moans and a pathological liar.'

Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday, who admitted that he hadn't seen the buttons, told Newstalk 1010 it doesn't look good on council and doesn't look good on the city of Toronto.
