NBC Drops Plans For Rengel Movie
An American TV network now says it won't be producing a segment on the murder of a Canadian teenager after all.
A publicist for E! Entertainment says the show called ``When Teens Kill'' will not include a segment on the murder of
14-year-old Toronto girl, Stefanie Rengel.
Stefanie's mom, Patricia Hung, had made an emotional plea via her blog and Facebook to N-B-C to forgo production of the segment.
Hung accused the network of seeking to profit at the expense of her daughter.
Stefanie was stabbed to death outside her home on New Year's Day in 2008 by another teen, who was goaded into the act by a girl who considered the victim a rival.
The publicist says Stefanie's story was one of several for the special, but won't be part of it now.
