Ryerson to Hold Emergency Meetings Following String of Sex Assaults

Posted By: Suzette Francis · 9/26/2012 7:33:00 AM

A series of sex assaults at Ryerson University, has prompted the students union to hold a couple of emergency public meetings to address the matter.

Since the start of the new school year, there have been at least six sexual assaults on the university's campus including one incident, where a man allegedly followed a woman into a washroom.

On the student union's Facebook page, students are being urged to attend the meeting to come up with ways to take action against gender-based violence.

The meetings will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 4 p.m.

Students who cannot attend the meetings are encouraged to contribute to the conversation online by visiting: rsuonline.ca/safecampus and filling out a community survey.
