The latest idea being floated around by a casino giant, will mean adding to one of the busiest parts of the city.

An urban casino is what Caesars Entertainment is proposing, if they were given permission to build here. They would like the location of the casino resort to be on Front Street, more specifically The Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Just like MGM, Caesars says only 10 percent of their casino resort would be slots and blackjack tables. The rest would be allotted to hotel rooms, convention space, venues and shopping. It would cost more than $1-billion dollars to redevelop and is projected to bring in 1,500 construction jobs and 3,000 fixed jobs for the casino portion, alone.

MGM meanwhile, has said they would like to have a permanent home for Cirque du Soleil shows, if they got a casino contract.
