Ford Conflict Of Interest Decision Could Come Soon
It won't be months, but a decision on the Rob Ford conflict of interest case, could be days away.
The case wrapped up on September 6th, and since then Justice Charles Hackland has been mulling over a ruling.
A worst case scenario for the mayor would see him booted from office.
Ford has long said that he does not believe he violated any rules when he used his office resources to solicit donations for his private football foundation in 2010, when he was a city councillor.
The city's integrity commissioner found these actions violated the conduct code for councillors.
Newstalk1010's Legal Analyst, Steve Skurka says he sees a decision coming in weeks, or maybe even days, but not months.
Skurka says "this case is a cloud hanging over the mayor's head. If it's undeserved, he deserves to be exonerated and if he deserves to be forced out of office, the judge owes it to the people of Toronto to do that as quickly as possible. "
Skurka also added that no amount of external pressure from the public will speed up the decision by the judge.
