*EXCLUSIVE* PM Chats With John Tory
An exclusive interview with Prime Minister Stephen Harper on the Live Drive with John Tory on Newstalk1010.
The two sat down and chatted on a variety of topics, including the NHL lockout, the 1972 Summit Series and interest rates in Canada being as low as they are.
The Prime Minister says interest rates can't go down, and warned Canadians to make sure the debt they were taking on was something they could service over the long term.
When he talked about the Summit Series, Harper, who is an avid hockey fan, remembered back to being in the gymnasium in grade 8 at the middle school he attended in Etobicoke, where the teachers had 'long since given up trying to teach them under those circumstances.'
Harper talked about how the mortgage rules in Canada have been tightened up to make sure Canada doesn't end up with a housing collapse similar to what happened in the US.
When talking about the economy, Stephen Harper says while the global economic picture is getting better, there is still a lot of lot of uncertainty, especially around Europe.
