You will have to take a detour if you are headed westbound this morning on the QEW in Mississauga.

All lanes are closed in that direction at Erin Mills Pkwy.

OPP are on scene investigating a serious crash.

Sgt Dave Woodford says the driver of a Hyundai lost control and hit the steel barrier and then came to a stop in a live lane.

The car was then hit by a tractor trailer and pushed into a light pole that came crashing down onto the car and the highway. Two other vehicles drove into the pole.

Sgt Woodford says only one person has been seriously injured. The driver of the Hyandai, a 35-year-old man, is in critical condition.

The closure is expected to last until about 9 or 10 a.m.
