A major announcement will be made regarding a murder that made headlines in January.

Police say Anthony Spencer, 23, was recording rap music at a studio on Brimley Road in east-end Toronto when he was shot early on the morning of January 21.

Surveillance video at Scarborough General Hospital shows four men and a woman bringing a wounded Spencer to the emergency department around 5 a.m.

Police say they know who is responsible for Spencer's death, but that they are not being forthright about what happened.

Det.-Sgt. Gary Giroux said as far as investigators have been able to determine, Spencer wasn't a member of any criminal organization, but a gang killing hasn't been ruled out. Giroux said any witnesses who come forward and are concerned for their safety will be evaluated for security concerns.

Giroux will be making Tuesday's announcement at 2 p.m.
