Things got a little heated away from the spotlights at Toronto City Hall on Wednesday.

It started with Council deciding when to deal with the Ombudsmans report that was released last week dealing with the Mayor's office getting involved in civic appointments.

Councillor Georgio Mammoliti said he wanted to see the Ombudsmans mandate, calling the report 'political'.

Councillor Gord Perks called on him to apologize for calling the Ombudsman into question, something the Speaker agreed with.

However, Mammoliti refused.

In the press area of City Hall is where things got ramped up. In the video courtesy of torontoist.com, you can clearly see Perks in the face of Mammoliti as the two discuss the issues.

The tone of their voice is calm, but their actions are anything but.

Later, Mammoliti clarified his remarks and asked for an apology from Perks, which he got.
