Marineland to Continue Undergoing Inspections
Marineland will continue being inspected randomly over the next while, but they have agreed to undergoing external inspections.
In a report by the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums released Wednesday, it stated that Marineland must "thoroughly update" it's water quality protocols, which could affect the health of its' animals.
The association saw the outcome of studies done on water quality logs and animal health records, which "raise questions" about the quality in the three pools. However, they did add that there was no evidence of animal abuse.
CAZA says Marineland has agreed to an external evaluation of it's water system, but adds that the quality of the water was good after the inspection it did in August.
The OSPCA also continues to investigate the park and released it's own update saying there are "areas of concern where certain deficiencies exist."
Marineland closes for the season on Monday and both CAZA and the OSPCA will continue performing inspections during the winter.
