Province Won't Force Casino on Toronto
The province continues to underline it will not put a casino where it's not wanted.
This comes after a staff report at Toronto city hall reveals the 416 would be handcuffed if the OLG approved the city as a site for a gaming facility and Ontario gave it a nod of support.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan says while the province has the power to get around local bylaws, it will still listen to municipalities.
Both Duncan and the Premier have have said they would leave the decision up to the people of Toronto.
The OLG, however, underlines it wants a decision by early next year.
