Durham cop charged with drunk driving
A Durham police officer has been slapped with drunk driving charges.
On the night of August 29th, Cst. Matthew McLaughlin's car slammed into an SUV at an intersection near the Whitby-Ajax border.
Authorities say McLaughlin, who had been on the force for 4 years, had been drinking.
He registered a blood alcohol level above .08.
McLaughlin has been charged with impaired driving and exceeding the .08 BAC limit.
The driver of the other vehicle wasn't hurt but McLaughlin suffered serious injuries.
He faces the courts November 6th.
