Soccer Star Christine Sinclair Suspended Four Games

Posted By: Dave Bradley · 10/12/2012 4:16:00 PM

FIFA is handing Canadian women's soccer star Christine Sinclair a four-game suspension for ``displaying unsporting
behaviour'' at the London Olympics.

The Canadian captain from Burnaby, B.C., scored three goals in the dramatic 4-3 semifinal loss to the United States.

The eventual Olympic champions scored the winning goal in extra time while Canada would go on to take the bronze medal.

Sinclair, who was also fined an undisclosed amount, was quoted after the game as saying the team felt ``cheated.''

Her FIFA disciplinary case was heard today in Switzerland.

The Canadian Soccer Association has requested the reasons for judgment and will not comment until they are received and reviewed.

Sinclair was also the Canadian flag bearer at the Closing Ceremony of the London Games.

4 Games; the refs are nuts! Wonder what the US figure skating skating folks will get for damaging Canadian Skates? Joseph Kampala (1972 Canada Russia Hockey Series Referee) must be in charge!
