Peel police are looking for a driver they say took off after a pedestrian was hit in Brampton.

Police say a 69-year-old man was in a crosswalk on Casltemore Rd near Crystalhill Dr around 7:20 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a vehicle turning right. 

The victim is in hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.

Witnesses describe the vehicle as a light-coloured minivan.
