Occupy Toronto eyes St. James Park again

Posted By: Siobhan Morris · 10/15/2012 5:53:00 AM

Occupy Toronto will be back in St. James Park on Monday.

The group has planned a demonstration to coincide with the 1 year anniversary of the encampment at the park at King & Jarvis that lasted 40 days last October & November.

The event's facebook page says the 1-day affair will celebrate Occupy's struggle, growth & accomplishments.

Things get rolling 1pm with a march from the south-east corner of King & Bay to St. James Park.

Once there, occupiers will plant garlic to "ward off vampires sucking the life out of the city".  There will be democracy workshops, theatrical & musical performances & a community open mic through the afternoon & evening.

Occupy Toronto plans to march out of the park & "into the future of the movement" at 11pm.

Just in time to wreck the grass again after a donation paid to have it fixed up from the last protest. they should put barricades around it and tell them to stand in the middle of the street. Their protest will have a much larger impact and wont wreck the grass.

With all due respect phoenix - maybe you should occupy a classroom for a while.

    I almost forgot - LOL

Anyone who tries to deface a public park with one of those shanty towns again needs to be thrown in jail for vagrancy. Clearly they don't have jobs to contribute to society with, so let them rot in a cell.

I think we already have this year's invoice ready for the grass.

Any freedom-from-work types who wants to come down to the park to hang out for a few days can bring their cash and pay at the door. No cash? Stay home.
