Police Launch Operation 'Clear Sailing' to Keep Traffic Moving
It's called "Operation Clear Sailing," and it's underway right now.
Toronto police from 55 division are conducting the blitz, that's an area bounded by Danforth, Victoria Park, the lake, and the DVP.
The focus of the blitz is to maintain the free flow of traffic along major routes in partnership with the TPS Parking Enforcement Unit.
They are taking a zero tolerance, 'tag and tow' policy for drivers who stop in traffic during rush hours. More specifically, they're targeting motorists between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Even if the driver is making a quick stop for coffee or dropping something off quickly, you'll be ticketed. Special attention will be paid to no-stopping zones and parked vehicles which interfere with traffic.
