A woman is dead after a collision on the Toronto bound QEW at Centennial Parkway through Hamilton.

A wheel from a truck in the Fort Erie bound lanes bounced across the highway and smashed into the windshield of the vehicle the woman was driving around 7 p.m. Monday night.

She was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No word yet on whether charges will be laid or anything about the identity of the victim.
